Silentia - Back Story

Sixty years ago, the galaxy as we knew it fell into an eerie silence. An alien race, unlike anything we had encountered before, arrived with devastating efficiency, stripping entire star systems of their resources with cold, calculated precision. They annihilated entire worlds, leaving nothing behind but a hollow, lifeless void. These invaders—who, to this day, remain shrouded in mystery—showed no mercy, no sign of negotiation, only an endless hunger for the very lifeblood of the galaxy.

Humanity, once proud and spread across countless systems, was left to scatter in the wake of the destruction. The remains of Earth and its colonies now lie in ruin, their once-thriving civilizations reduced to remnants. Some pockets of humanity still survive—isolated, fractured, but resolute. We don’t know who these aliens are, where they came from, or what their ultimate goal is. But one thing is certain: we can no longer fight them in open battle. Their ships are powerful beyond anything we could ever hope to match, and any direct confrontation is a death sentence.

Instead, we’ve learned to adapt. Survival now depends on our ability to remain hidden, to move through the galaxy undetected, and to avoid the ever-watchful eyes of our alien adversaries. We have a plan—though no one person knows all of it. In fact, the protagonist of our story is one of the last survivors entrusted with this mission. He holds only pieces of the puzzle and the heavy weight of delivering those fragments to the remaining pockets of humanity scattered across the wreckage of the stars.

His ship is one of the few left capable of venturing into the debris fields that make up the remnants of once-thriving star systems. These fields are dangerous—filled with debris, remnants of destroyed ships, and the ever-present threat of detection. It's not just the alien ships that are a danger, but also the harsh environment itself.

Our ships are faster than theirs. We can outrun them—at least for a while. And we’ve developed a temporary cloaking system, a brief reprieve from certain death. However, the system drains a tremendous amount of energy, and prolonged use is a risk. It’s a delicate balance: stealth and speed over strength and firepower. Most of the time, it’s better to sneak through the wreckage than to attempt any sort of high-speed escape.

Navigational systems are also a problem. Any attempt to use advanced navigation would set off alarms, alerting the aliens to our presence. Instead, we rely on old-fashioned, manual piloting—using the debris as cover, carefully charting courses through the void without the luxury of real-time data.

The galaxy is no longer a place where heroes boldly face down their enemies in epic battles. It’s a place of shadows, a place where survival depends not on fighting but on outsmarting a relentless, unseen threat. The silence that once marked our defeat is now our only ally.

In Silentia, the fate of humanity rests on your shoulders. As you take on the role of the protagonist, your journey will be one of survival and discovery. You’ll need to rely on your instincts, your wits, and the fragments of the plan that have been entrusted to you, all while moving through the vast, silent ruins of the galaxy.

The mission is clear: Stay silent, stay hidden—or be hunted. And with every passing moment, the galaxy’s fate becomes more uncertain.

Can you navigate the silence and deliver humanity’s last hope, or will the void claim you, too? The galaxy is waiting for an answer
